Day 1
Do try the Malaysian-style coffee and traditional Kopitiam at breakfast. It is time to head for Perak Cave Temple, which is a temple is set within a limestone cave. Look at the gold-colored Buddha statue and hand-painted colorful murals that decorate the cave walls. Drive to Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple, which is the largest Buddhist temple and is surrounded by greenery. Enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant before heading for your hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast, visit Han Chin Pet Soo History Museum which is located at the edge of Ipoh’s Old Town. Enjoy looking at collectibles, photographs, and artifacts from the 19th and 20th century. The museum is located near the Kinta River, where you can bicycle along the river for a great experience. During lunchtime, enjoy Bean Sprout Chicken’ which is a mouth-watering dish. Cowans’ street serves the best Bean Sprout Chicken. Birch Memorial Tower is located in the clock tower in Ipoh and commemorates the first British Resident of the state of Perak, James W. W. Birch. Visit Gunung Lang Recreational Park for the beautiful scenery. Explore the park and ostrich farm there. For dinner, you can try the silky soft noodles at Chee Cheong fun store, which serves the noodles with amazing sauces and condiments.
Day 3
Visit Muzium Darul Ridzuan on the third day. The museum carries great historic value and is well known because of its colonial architecture. It showcases the history of the mining and agriculture. Later, visit Ipoh World where you can take a comprehensive tour of the museum to learn about tin miners. Enjoy Police Station Curry Mee which is spicy and simply heavenly.
Day 4
Gua Tempurung cave is popular among spelunkers and is about 3 km long. Explore the cave to see some spectacular stalactites. Make sure that you carry torches, change of clothes and shoes. Later you can visit Tanjung Tualang Dredge No. 5, which looks like a floating factory. Try Foh San Dim Sum at Foh San Dim Sum for dinner, and you will find them simply irresistible.
Day 5
Start the day with a visit to the Heritage House and enjoy looking at antiques, calligraphy paintings and old furniture on display. Later you can visit Lng Sen Tong temple, which is a beautiful Taoist temple and means Rock of Heavenly Spirits. Kwan Yin Tong Temple is another temple that is a must to visit. Located at Gunung Rapat, another attraction of the temple is this water feature as the whole e area is designed like the Japanese wishing fountain. Do try the famous soybean pudding, Tau fu fah and the best can be had at Funny Mountain.
