Best Foods of Italy

October 30, 2017 by Jeremy

Italy is not only known for it’s amazing food, but also for it’s history and landscape. One of my favourite things to do is rent a car and drive across the Amalfi Coast, eating everything in sight! The originality and the quality of the ingredients used to cook traditional Italian food is the main reason why this incredible Mediterranean cuisine has become so popular and appreciated everywhere in the world. You can easily drive across any parts of Italy with friends or family. You can get good rental car discounts if you look ahead of time.

In Italy, food has become a real tradition, which is passed on from generation to generation and these well-kept secrets result in a wide variety of dishes. Even the same meal can be cooked in many different ways, and it will be just as delicious as all the other Italian foods.

Whether you want to surprise someone special or you simply want to enjoy a good meal, you can never be wrong with traditional Italian food. Italian cuisine is known in every part of the world, and people from various countries, cultures or social backgrounds love these delicious dishes, even though they have never been to Italy. There has often been this dispute on the issue whether Italian food or French food is the best and which of these two countries is the country of food. However, the popularity of Italian cuisine seems to make it clear that it is far more appreciated throughout the world. There is so much variety when it comes to traditional Italian food that you may not even know where to start.

However, one thing is common in all the dishes: the highest quality of the ingredients used. Italian people love their country, and they love making good food. That is the reason why they only cook with fresh ingredients produced to the highest standards. If you try a tomato sauce in Italy once, you will fall in love with it forever. But not only vegetables are by far better in this beautiful country, but also do other foods, such as cheese or meat products.

Italian cheese, like mozzarella and parmegiano, is internationally known and no other cheese in the world can reach the same textures or aromas. Italian people also have their cooking secrets. What is striking about this country is the fact that almost everyone knows how to cook. If you want to eat a good spaghetti recipe, you don’t need to go to a restaurant. Experimenting local cuisine is by far better if you enjoy the meal cooked by an Italian family. Each of them has their recipes and methods to cook the same meal. Italy has many regional foods that are due to the intricate history of this antique territory.

For example, the original tortellini recipe is going to be disputed forever between Bologna and Modena, even though these two cities are right next to each other. These differences make Italian food so diverse and surprising every time you try it. The originality and the quality of the ingredients used to cook traditional Italian food is the main reason why this incredible Mediterranean cuisine has become so popular and appreciated everywhere in the world. In Italy, food has become a real tradition, which is transmitted from generation to generation and these well-kept secrets result in a wide variety of dishes. Even the same meal can be cooked in many different ways, and it will be just as delicious as all the other Italian foods.

My name is Jeremy and I used to be a pretty high-up chef in New York City. I worked at a few high scale restaurants and loved it for many years. But then it began to feel like something was missing. After a short trip to Thailand, I knew what I had to do.

I came back to NYC, gave my work notice, packed up and headed out to the road. Since 2015, I've been backpacking around the world (and eating everything!!!). Thankfully with all the walking I do traveling, I've only gained a few pounds hahaha. Read More…
