1 cup white rice, uncooked
1 cinnamon stick
3 cups water
2 cups sweetened condensed milk
5 T raisins (optional)
cinnamon for garnish
Put rice, cinnamon stick, and water into a saucepan. Bring to a boil quickly. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until water is absorbed (15-20 minutes). Add the milk and the raisins. Cook uncovered until the milk works into the rice (10-15 minutes). Remove pan from the heat. Take out the cinnamon stick and cover. Let it set a few minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve hot or cold.
This recipe was one I made in Spanish class as an activity! It was so yummy that we still make it!
