Most people automatically turn their noses up at the thought of "chocolate gravy". That's because they are thinking of it in terms of the traditional sense. Anyone I've ever convinced to try it is an instant convert. It's actually more like a very thin chocolate pudding, and it's to die for over southern-style biscuits or shortbread. This recipe is a must for chocolate lovers! I copied this one from Southern Living, but it's exactly like the one my grandma makes.

Ingredients
1/3 cup sugar
1 ½ Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 ½ Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

1. Whisk together first five ingredients in a small saucepan.
   
2. Bring to boil over medium heat, whisking constantly.
   
3. Boil, stirring often, until thickened and bubbly.
   
4. Stir in butter and vanilla.
   
5. Serve over biscuits or shortbread. Yields 1 ¼ cups.
