
3 cups water
1 inch piece of sliced fresh ginger root
1/4 tsp black peppercorns
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1/4 tsp cardamom seeds
6-8 whole cloves
2 tsp black tea leaves or 2 tea bags
3/4 cup mile
sugar or honey to taste
In a saucepan, boil the water and spices until the liquid reduces to 2 cups (about 10-15 min). Remove from heat, add the tea, and steep for 5 minutes. Strain the tea and discard the leaves and spices. Return the tea to the saucepan. Add the milk and heat to boiling. Add sugar or honey and serve!
