Spaetzle

Spaetzle

Combine in large bowl:
2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 C. cold water

Beat with wooden spoon until bubbles form in dough. Bring to boil a large kettle of salt water. Place the dough on a wet wooden board. With knife, scrape thin strips of dough into the boiling water. Bring to a full boil, then remove the dough from the water with a large straining ladle. Rinse them in fresh hot salt water. Place on serving platter. Brown top with 1 T. butter and 1 tsp. bread crumbs. Or serve plain or with gravy.
