Dumplings

1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/2 c. milk

Sift together the dry ingredients. Beat the egg; add it and the milk. Mix well. Add by the spoonful in any stew that is boiling. Cover and boil for 15 minutes.

This recipe and all the following are taken from a book put out by Germans From Russia, Heart of American chapter. My grandmother gave me this book in October. It's simply called "Kochbuch".
